FAQs

If you're planning the layout of a locker room for your business or workplace then these locker room design essentials will help you avoid the common mistakes.

Do you know these locker room design essentials?

It is important to plan your locker room design to allow minimum distances to allow clear movement of users in gangways.

If people are likely to need to get change clothing or footwear then benches or island seating may be required in between each locker which will require additional space.

Use the right lockers for your storage needs

The size and configuration of the locker compartment will be determined by the items to be stored. For example; the need to hang garments, size of bag/holdalls, storage of motorcycle helmets and footwear etc.

Separate work from personal wear?

There may be a need to store work wear separately from personal clothing. If this is the case then PPE or clean/dirty locker options are available.

Cleaning and hygiene in the locker room

If hygiene is important, consider a factory fitted sloping option on the top of each locker. This prevents the build-up of dirt and debris and also encourages storage within the locker itself. Locker stands can provide cleaning access beneath each locker. We supply a large range of lockers with anti bacteria powder coating

Level floor surfaces

Check that floor surfaces are level as lockers are designed to be floor standing. If your locker room has an uneven floor then floor locker stands can be used to compensate.

Will there be damp clothing?

If there is a need to air damp clothing then consider lockers where garments can be hanged, or opt for a compartment locker with perforated holes in doors to increase air circulation.

Securing the lockers

What type of locks will you require? Key cam locks, Padlock fittings and coin operated locker options are available for secure each locker.

Other locker accessories and replacement locker keys are available

Locker accessories such as hanging rail, sloping tops and number plates can be added to your lockers. Consider this when designing your locker room solution.

Visual monitoring?

If you need to keep an eye on the contents of lockers then consider perforated doors for the combination of security and visibility.

Matching locker colours

Most of our lockers are available in a wide range of colours. Consider the visual appearance with the decor of the room and your building as a whole.

Relevant storage regulations

Under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare regulations 1992) employers are required to provide suitable and sufficient accommodation for workwear and personal clothing.

The personal Protective Equipment at work regulations 1992 also require the provision of suitable storage to protect personal protective equipment from damage, contamination or loss. If you have got a lower quote from another genuine supplier call us now and we'll beat it.
